You've put our sweet Elphaba on ignore? Gosh Tobin, you must be getting close to talking only to yourself. Maybe that's how you like it.

In answer to DrW, I'm guessing an immature 25.

If that's what you want, fine. I'll ignore you as well. It was nice talking with you, but I really am not going to put up with that.

I guess I'm on ignore, as well. I seem to be in good company. I wonder who is left?
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Well I know that a thirteen year old is the terrible twos with eleven years more experience.

Quasi,

That's about where I was at the beginning of this thread. As to emotional/intellectual age, I am guessing a bit lower than that now. The "Oh, goodie-" upthread was sort of a give-away.

Tator,

Sounds as if you might have recent experience with one or more 13 year olds.

My only question would be as to whether you referring to emotional age or chronological age.

Experience = yes and more than one.

Emotional age = 13

Chronological age I would only add a couple of years....3 tops. In some ways he is probably a bright 15 or 16 year old. My opinion.

PS I hope I make Tobin's ignore list with this post.

Well, the moral we learn from Blixa is she is unable to refute the point I made. Does that mean you concede I'm correct or does your need to be politcally correct prevent you from actually having anything intelligent to say at all?!?

Tobin -

I'll risk agreeing with you on one point - the term hero is thrown around rather cavalierly and that's probably unfortunate. ETA: I need to clarify I don't think Sally Ride is mislabeled as a hero given both her contribution to society and the fact she probably changed the trajectory of many young women's lives by being an example they wanted to emulate.

But I'd think a person so concerned with the moral decline of society would be able to manage a modest, "Oops, I misidentified Sally Ride and apologize."

Modesty and humility are declining virtues as well.

I think that is rather obvious and I was correcting/corrected my posts accordingly as I already noted (twice). It was immaterial to the point I was making.

Apology, modesty, and humility noted.

Oh, hey: I accidentally slashed your tires, but it's OK because it was immaterial to the point I was making.

And because it has been a long time coming, I do believe this calls for the resurrection of an old usenet custom:

Ok - I made a mistake and corrected it within minutes of my original post. I'm sorry I'm a fallible human-being. LOL As I said, all of that is rather obvious. But if this leads to world peace and rainbows at sunset, I'm all for it.
