Which is bunk in and of itself since this dovetails nicely with well known second and first hand accounts we all have experienced. ...

Yes, indeed.

Runtu,

Great OP.

Crises of faith are widespread in the LDS Church, not just among the marginally committed, but also the true believers and leadership.

I see the LDS Chuch trying to create more acceptance for people struggling with the historical and doctrinal problems. This makes me very hopeful.

However, many members find it difficult to discuss or express their doubts, when there is still such a negative attitude towards these people. For one example, just look at [Yahoo Bot]'s attitude.

Far from being Christlike, [Yahoo Bot] is sarcastic, condescending and arrogant to those who don't share his exact beliefs. I've been told he was [deleted] in law school and he is a giant dick now. Some people never change. I guess every religion probably has their "[Yahoo Bot]s".

You don't challenge any views. You just add noise.

I am considering tuning you out: frankly, I prefer to read ldsfaqs or Droopy. Yes, it's that bad.

I think so. He's using the mouths of third parties to express what he himself is afraid to express directly. I wonder why. Isn't he out of the Church in name as well as spirit? I haven't been following his exploits lately.

I have a teenage daughter who follows this board. She says that Runtu is conflicted and led around by the deviil like a bull is led around by a nose ring. I wonder if she's right?

Using your daughter as a third voice to say what you're afraid to?

This is an example of how commonly accepted accounts of history are the result of gradual straying from the truth through artistic interpretation, though no actual intent to deceive was involved.

Fortunately, the less-than-accurate (but not false) teachings from 1978 have been corrected by profession, faithful historians in 2004 to show the much more accurate truth. Clearly he was lead astray by an immodest cylon vixen who took advantage of his atheism and narcissism. He was but a pawn in the grander plans of the universe* which foresaw great things for him, ultimately leading to his salvation as well as becoming a father to us all.

Knowing the true history of Baltar has served to strengthen my faith.

* - notably, the tragic destruction of countless people (mostly stand-ins and day actors) through his failings is but a moral play from which we can learn. The ends are what matter.

I've been on these forums with you for years and had no idea you moved. If I recall correctly, you lived in Utah County and I felt a great deal of empathy for that situation.

When I moved back to Utah from New England I worked in Utah County for a while. I'll never make that mistake again.

Cheers

C'mon, [Yahoo Bot]. You're not "challenging" anything. You are simply trolling.
