This is awful. Imagine the temerity of this black preacher suggesting that white people be the only greeters that week. Putting white people up front as greeters demeans their very existence!!!

To remedy this situation, Paula Deen should indeed be invited to hand out her buttery creations at the next service and to send a frozen vacuum sealed pack of these goodies straight to Moksha@mormondiscussions.com

By "crucifiers," are you referring to the Food Network executives who didn't renew her contract? The sponsors who dropped her? Surely not, since none of them have anything to do with a North Carolina church.

Or perhaps you mean the various people who were appalled (as they should be) by her plan to put on a plantation-theme party, with black folks dressed as slaves? I would say they are also voicing their disapproval of this pastor (as they should be). As the news report said, "her ideas... have left the regulars feeling angry and discriminated against." Of course.

no, i was referring to those who exerted public pressure to the extent which made those corporate decisions necessary. The sponsors made business decisions, not ethical ones...its not like they consulted the HR department and then suddenly the news heard about it....the sponsors made their decision like any other decision.

perfect example of a lemming...they were not to be dressed as slaves...but in traditional era serving outfits...that would have been worn by white, black, red, or yellow.
Even so, there was no harm in her private party musings any more than having serving staff dress in other costume.

which in Deen's case would have been the staff and any others involved in the dinner party...remind me again how Food Network or any sponsors were involved in her private event.
and obviously the church should lose its ability to operate, pastors should lose any licenses they hold, and their tax-free status should be revoked.

why does it baffle the mind? because it is so inconceivable that a black person would be "racist"?...when in fact there really was no racism...the idea that people not different, for good or for bad, because of their skin color and cultural upbringing is by far the most idiotic, anti-American, and absurd notion ever.
So, do they deserve to be treated differently?....yes....everyone treats people differently all the time...different because of their clothes, their skin color, their gender, their age, their attitude, their behavior, their opinion, etc....
