Norway Comes Out Of The Dark Ages

Norway’s centre-right claims victory

"Center" is always a HUGE concern because in reality there is no center, but it's progress. Plus, I am half Norwegian myself.

Given that Norway is an oil-rich nation, goes this mean the oil companies can now call the shots? Will their anti-immigration policies push the Herring back into the sea?

Ludwigm, what does this mean for the rest of Europe?

Does Europe count for anybody from the new world? I am surprised.

Third step:
Reading the page...

“This is a historic result. It is the first time in 24 years that we have a Conservative prime minister,” Jan Tore Sanner, deputy leader of the Conservatives, told the Financial Times.
The Conservatives, who received 26.8 per cent of the vote...
26.8 % majority. Sounds convincing.

But difficult coalition discussions beckon after their result lagged behind the 30.8 per cent received by the Labour party of current prime minister Jens Stoltenberg.
30.8 % ... for ONE party ...

Ms Solberg will now have to unite the views of the Conservatives with three disparate parties: the populist rightwing Progress party and the centrist Christian Democrats and Liberals.
* populist rightwing - good word combination, ..ehm..
* Christian Democrats - can any American republican interpret this combo?
* Liberals - got it, bcspace?

“Of course, there will be some difficult issues. But we have had a good co-operation for the last four years in parliament. We hope that all four parties would like to be part of the government,” Mr Sanner said.
All four parties - and the opposite ones.
As a sum of 7 parlamentary, 18 nonparlamentary and 3 inactive party.

(inactive = less active in Mormon vocabulary)
Not the blackandwhite American model...

Was my answer exhaustive enough?

...bcspace has read only the first sentence of that page...
Norway’s centre-right opposition has claimed victory in parliamentary elections, ending eight years of centre-left rule

As usual.
