Upcoming Newsweek Article...
For those of you that know, and those of you just hearing about it, the Newsweek article (about people finding support as they transition away from Mormonism) is set to be published on Friday, January 31st. The reporter said her editor loved it! It will be available at http://www.newsweek.com.
She came out and spent a week here in Utah doing background research and visiting many of the support groups/meet-ups. She interviewed people in all stages of disaffection and transition from the Mormon church. This should be an interesting article!

That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)

Are people transitioning away from Mormonism at a greater rate than other religions?

From one of the comments:

Actually I could have waited. That was awful. It makes it seem like ex-Mormons just want to drink alcohol. I'm sure the author thought it was funny and maybe to never-mos it is funny but they didn't really discuss the root of the problem. The comments following the article were much better.

Yes, it makes the Mormon critics look like a bunch of drunken idiots. I'm sure that is generally not true, but this is probably not the article many of you were all hoping for.

One of the few highlights of the article was this statement:

Agreed, the only thing redeemable was the title
