What will Mormon Heaven Be Like?
I am a non-believer. The subject of a post-earth existence is unprovable and most likely non-existent. Now that having been said…I am curious as to what exactly Mormon’s believe they will be doing in eternity? As a TBM, I used to believe we'd be creating worlds, suns and universes and populating them with our spirit children, but at what point does even that become untenable? Eternity is an awful long time. I mean how many family reunions can you take?
For me, assuming there is an afterlife, Hell would be doing temple work or missionary work for eternity…heaven would be golf, fishing, epicureanism ( the business of seeking pleasure), eternal sexual pleasure, traveling the cosmos, eternal education and of course family and friends. But certainly NOT temple work...arggg that would be HELL...as would kissing God's ass for eternity as well...( is he really that unsecure as to need our eternal ass kissing?)
So what exactly is Mormon eternity supposed to involve? ( guess we no longer get our own planet) And is there ANYTHING you could imagine wanting to do for eternity...a.k.a. forever, for infinity, time without end, for perpetuity? I think I’d rather just die and turn out the lights and fade to black.

Re: What will Mormon Heaven Be Like?
seems the earth we are on is suppose to go through the same spiritual progression, birth, baptism, death ... resurrection to a "sea of glass" type seer where we can see all things past/present/future.
I guess we all hang out here ... looking at stuff

Fortunately or unfortunately your 'heaven' will be exactly what you are expecting. No temple work, no family reunions and no ass kissing. Of course I also don't think it will be golf, fishing, epicureanism ( the business of seeking pleasure), eternal sexual pleasure, traveling the cosmos, but it will be an education either way.
By the way, who says we no longer get a planet?

The LDS church has disavowed this popular LDS notion... see lds.org

I wonder if there is a Grandfather clause for all of those who vested into the plan before the change?

It is dark. You will most likely be eaten by a Grue.

It's always comforting to know that it fits the description of other Christians hell (eternal burnings)

I tell my wife and kids that it will be like a high councilman Sunday sacrament meeting that never ends....people just keep getting up and talking forever and ever and ever and ever....................

Never was an LDS notion to begin with as far as I can tell.

They way I see it is that there would be no more need for Sacrament meeting.

Apparently, there will be a lot of Duran Duran music.
As for me, I'll be somewhere else. As Alex Turner put it, "Your name isn't Rio, and I don't care for sand."
