Essentially, Huntsman's $1.5b to charity is at a cost of $12m per year loss to the LDS coffers. I'd call Huntsman's the gift that keeps on giving.

Sock, good point I hadn't thought of it this way but that is why I always enjoy and value your contributions or at least 10% of them  .

I disagree, but your conceptualization of a "TBM" is probably quite a bit more narrow and presuppositional than mine.

No, the course at the Salt Lake Country Club is not the best golf course in Utah by a long shot.

There are two truths that are discovered by the Article.

1st. Huntsman not only feels that the Mormon church is MOST CERTAINLY NOT a charitable organization, but if it were to be extended the title of a charity, it would be among those that are considered fraudulently based where the administrative costs are greater than the charitable uses of the funds (see http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.c ... 8voVeNdXX4)

2nd. Huntsman so distrusts the Mormon church's ability to perform its core mission of "feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and succoring the the poor" that he would rather invest his funds in a organization he knows will perform the core mission (the Giving Pledge http://givingpledge.org).

I wonder if Huntsman Sr has ever been a patron of the Mega Mormon Mall of America®?

It was in my day, but that was a very long time ago. Still, I think you got my point.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Way off. Huntsman was making a case for the need for charitable contributions beyond giving just to churches.

Does Huntsman's comments mean that he thinks the Mormon Corporations Humanitarian center is for show (http://www.Mormon.org/values/humanitarian-aid)?

Not sure if it's purely for show, but it is tax deductible.
That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)
