What would the church be like if all members were like Mak..
or BCspace or WhyMe or Tobin? In my opinion, it would be pretty chaotic. No real belief system. No real structure to that belief system. No titles would be given because someone wouldn't like to be classified as "President" even though they might be the Elders Quorum President. Would they help each other move? Would they do their home teaching?
From my Mormon experience, I'm glad most members have little to no understanding of their religions history/issues. I think the lack of knowledge from the general membership actually helps the Mormon church produce humble, charitable, selfless serving individuals. I don't see that in the church of Maklelan/BCSpace/WhyMe/Tobin.

That is both untrue and condescending.

"From my Mormon experience" is a statement of opinion. Since you do not know my Mormon experience, you cannot state this is untrue. If you have some statistics that show most members have more than just a little understanding of the history of the church, I'd be glad to re-evaluate my Mormon experience. Until then, I stand by my opinion.

Is assuming that there is, in fact, a lack of knowledge from the general membership. I reject that claim and the condescension that comes with it.
In any case, I am glad you have risen so far above the uneducated, sheep-like Mormons who permeated your environment, Sanctorian, the enlightened ex-Mormon.

I don't see how it's condescending to state in my opinion the church produces charitable, humble, selfless individuals. The lack of knowledge regarding church history is also my opinion, but in no instance did I say the membership is dumb. I just believe most members are sheltered from the history of the church. A statement to which you still have not provided any evidence to refute.

Again, you're saying this, not me. What I am suggesting (in my opinion since you seem to need this disclaimer) is if more members knew the history, I believe they would be more apathetic towards the organization of the church and may even be less charitable towards each other.
You can prove me wrong if you want.

If Church members knew its history they'd have been no need for the recent essays.
That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)

I think you present a difficult scenario since each listed member holds very different notions of the Mormon church, and acts very differently.
in my opinion, if all the member were like Mak the Mormon church would be similar to the Anglican church.
If Mo's were like BCSpace the the Mo church would be essentially unchanged.
If the Mo's were like WhyMe the Mo church wouldn't exist.
If the Mo's were like Tobin the Mo church would've splintered into thousands of different sects by now... with not a few taking the Jonestown route.

In the face of madness, rationality has no power - Xiao Wang, US historiographer, 2287 AD.
Every record...falsified, every book rewritten...every statue...has been renamed or torn down, every date...altered...the process is continuing...minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Ideology is always right.

It isn't condescending when you remove the condescending part from your statement. It is condescending to claim that most members don't know much about their history or issues, when that is clearly a misinformed opinion. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, but I thought I would help you make it more accurate.

Your opinion is extraordinarily misinformed, Sanctorian. I am simply trying help you make it more accurate, without the added post hoc. How, for example, do you believe that knowledge of history correlates with a person's charitably?

Problems with auto-correct:
In Helaman 6:39, we see the Badmintons, so similar to Skousenite Mormons, taking over the government and abusing the rights of many.

You haven't really provided any data to show how exactly I'm misinformed. For all we know, you might be misinformed. Until you have some data to share, your opinion is really no different than mine. The only difference is I have been clear to state my opinion is just that while you are stating yours is fact.
