by not budging on anything - are you referring to the sunday scheduling? or was there more?
i think BYU's public shaming of their black basketball player during the NCAA tournament was probably not forgotten by the pac 10/12 committee. i wonder what else played into that.
M.E.,
You covered it fairly well. I was referring mainly to the scheduling. Pac-12 baseball for example plays a three game series every Friday - Saturday - Sunday. I read somewhere that BYU wanted to play Saturday doubleheaders instead of Sunday games. That would mess with scheduling and pitching rotations that the Pac-12 wasn't going to accommodate just for one school...especially the new kid on the block. I also heard rumblings about disagreement when it came to TV revenues and sharing. I can't confirm that...just heard some stuff. In the end I believe BYU thought that the Pac-12 needed them more than BYU needed the Pac-12. The Pac-12 didn't want the headache.
Red flags look normal when you're wearing rose colored glasses.

interesting that you mention baseball. my dear giants got clocked last night by a returned missionary who went to the pac 10 instead of returning to byu. damn giants. damnit.
"Rocks don't speak for themselves" is an unfortunate phrase to use in defense of a book produced by a rock actually 'speaking' for itself... (I have a Question, 5.15.15)

I grew up a Dodgers fan, but now I root for the Rays. Still don't care for the orange and black. But I did work with the Giants for four years. Brian Sabean and Bruce Bochy are good guys. They also have a minor league coordinator named Bert Bradley who pitched at BYU. I don't think he is a member.
Sorry for your Giants. The Royals are more fun to watch though.

They SHOULD do it within 10 seconds afterwards. He is a SoCal guy. They said yesterday though that they are sticking by Mattingly. So, either Maddon will sit a year, or someone with BIG BUCKS (Cubs? Tigers?) will go after him.

As a Giants fan, I hope they promote Brian Wilson to be a player/manager.

To be fair, BYU took a BIG hit when they lost Taysom Hill. In the past it always seemed as if they had a back-up who would come in and impress. I'm not seeing it with the guy they have now. Also their defense looks bad and there is not much Hill could have done to help out there.
Since going Independent, hasn't their quality of opponents gone down? And didn't something come up recently that scheduling BYU would not count heavily towards accumulating BCS points or something like that?

scheduling BYU means playing games on weeknights for that goofy ass espn contract. scheduling notre dame does not require the same compromise.
