Proving the Benghazi mania conjured up on the Right was nothing more than a desperate attempt to hurt Hillary's campaign, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said:

"Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee. A select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she's untrustable. But no one would have known that any of that had happened had we not fought to make that happen."

Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY) argued that McCarthy should not back away from his comments because: “Sometimes the biggest sin you can commit in D.C. is to tell the truth... This may not be politically correct, but I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hillary Clinton."

Bill O'Reilly: "Of course it's political ... If you think those guys, those Republicans on that panel, don't want to bring down Hillary Clinton, you're six-years-old. Because they do."

This is politics, not some wild-eyed truth telling. What do the Benghazi pushers have to gain by being honest? Lincoln pointed out long ago that you can fool some of the people all of the time. They have momentum in fooling the rubes. Kevin's message is an appeal to ethics and that simply cannot fly in when there is and election.

It isn't just "a component" moron, it is the only motive. The Benghazi hearings that are costing taxpayers millions is just a giant sham. Nothing is ever accomplished except to further put Clinton in a negative spotlight. That's it. That is the entire purpose. And we're all paying for it. There was never any hard evidence or rational argument to suggest she had done anything illegal, but politicizing the deaths of Americans is something that is never beneath Republicans. It would be one thing if the whole thing vanished after the first investigation concluded no wrongdoing years ago. But there have been half a dozen now over the span of four years and it is getting beyond ridiculous. Time and time again nothing new is learned but they keep calling for more hearings because the facts they keep uncovering don't jive with what they want to find.

If you want to say "Duh of course it is political" well then stop pretending there is something else to it. Republicans in general, FOX and the Right Wing media have been pretending for years that they actually believed she had done something illegal, but when all the dust has settled, now they're basically saying "Haha joke's on you!"

Little do they realize, all this did was make her look more Presidential than ever. Meanwhile, the clowns running these interrogations come off as a bunch of desperate asshats.

WTF are you talking about? Hillary has never been anyone I've been "100% loyal too." My preference would go in this order: Warren, Sanders, Biden, Clinton.

But it is telling that Republicans for years insisted they had a genuine interest in covering so-called "truths" in order to best honor the deaths of American abroad, and yet when all is said and done, they're saying it was all just a political gambit to hurt the woman they hate. After these admissions, I think they should all be tried for abuse of power.
