Reporting suicide notes on Facebook

Post by _Jersey Girl »

Don't waste your time doing it.

I don't know if folks here saw my post in Terrestrial two days ago. One of my family members Facebook friends (cross country) posted a suicide note. My family member did report the post to Facebook and went on to call police in the area in an attempt to intervene. sockpuppet kindly replied to my post by providing me with a list of phone numbers in that particular area while I was messaging with my family member who was making calls. His help was so important because he basically put a directory of phone numbers right in front of me so we could go down the list.

The Facebook friend apparently completed suicide after making the post. And yet, two days later, her suicide note remains on Facebook. I just want folks to know that if you see a post like that and report it to Facebook, that Facebook isn't going to step into the situation and likely will not even remove the post.

Don't waste your time with Facebook reporting. If you see something like that and you have any kind of contact information, try to directly contact local authorities who have the best chance of intervening.

They shouldn't remove the post. Clearly the deceased wanted the post to be read.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

The more important question on my mind about this is why does Facebook have instructions for reporting suicide notes so they can "investigate" if they don't intend to step in somehow?
