Ever come across the German term "Teufelskreis"?
I can think of none better to describe the status of your stated positions on this board.
Words and the meaning of words run to waste by translation. Most of the times. I know it, because I am translating continuously when I am here.
I am lucky to know - some low level... - English and German, as additions of MartianHungarian.
Teufelskreis is "vicious circle" in English by all dictionaries.
Teufel is "demon" or "deuce" or "devil".
OK, then backwards:
devil is "der Beelzebub" or "Diabolus" or "der Teufel" in German.
That is, as vicious would be "bös" or "bösartig" or "lasterhaft" only, Teufelskreis should be "devilish circle".
Then, go to Hungarian. Someway, same as German. (Sorry folks, I am a Hungarian, and can not escape from this fact, even I was or will be punished here for it...)
devil is "ördög"
ördög (as general noun) can be "bogy, bogeyman, deuce" as well
Ördög as a name is
--- Mephistopheles/Mephisto/Mefisztó (see Goethe's Faust or Gounod's Faust)
--- Lucifer; see viewtopic.php?f=5&t=41244 ...
And ördögi kör is "Teufelskreis" --> mirror translation
by the way
from this minute on, I write everything only on offtopic. You all know why.
