Obstruction of Justice

One of the interesting things about watching this Russian debacle is listening to members of congress hedging, or unwilling to commit to whether Drumpf's actions constitute obstruction of justice.

I was watching Chris Hayes last night and he had a prosecutor in the Watergate scandal on his show. She did not mince words. She claimed it was a clear example of obstruction. The key to obstruction is intent, and she said that asking Sessions and the rest of his staff to leave the room before asking Comey to let the Flynn investigation go shows clear intent.

I know there is a process that needs to be completed to arrive at a legal conclusion, but it just feels like people are being careful about it not because of the legal ramifications, but the political ones.

But I'm ready to be schooled about it by the legal minds on this site.

I think they need to see the memo that Comey has or even the collection of memos he has regarding Trump. as far as I know, this has yet to be produced.

Drumpf has a problem. If Drumpf's claimed tapes exist they had better be 100% accurate in every detail or it is Obstruction of Justice. A cops recall of notes are admissible in court. Comey was the top cop in the country. He has a long history of taking accurate notes. Plus Drumpf is alleged to have tried to get two top "Spooks" to lie for him. Of course a charge in the House and trial in the Senate is the only remedy we have.

Well, Comey's memos do exist in the FBI files and a verbal description of at least one of them has been passed along to news media by several different sources that are in a position to know. Stay tuned.
