Given all of the response from the thread about the former stake prez ex'ed for dressing and acting like a woman

I thought we should start a new thread about Rachel Dolezal, who was born WHITE, but apparently "identifies" as black.




Her biological birth parents, are as caucasian as Hostess® white bread:

So, she was born white and wants to be recognized as being from the black race.

This is serious folks! Her life has been destroyed by people just like you so full of hate that you cannot recognize her "Identity"!!!

She has been forced into poverty because of you all anti race-crossers!

You seem to be suggesting that you're full of hate, that people like yourself have destroyed this girls life, and that you're an anti-race-crosser.

Personally I have no reason to object to her mindset about how she self-identifies.

Where topics like this one become complicated and hard to really understand, is when self-identity comes into conflict with legislation. For example, I could choose to self-identify as South African, but doing so would not enable me to have a South African passport.

As I said on the other thread. I'm undeducated on this type of thing so I wish to learn rather than enter into recriminations. But for the record, IMHO you're being a bit of ass on these threads in terms of the veracity and intractability of your language. You seem entrenched in a view and are simply going to keep shouting it until people give up dialogue with you. Which is a shame, because the example in the OP could (sans hyperbole) be a useful talking point in developing the discussion.

But hey, if you wish to self-identify as a jerk that's your prerogative.

Here's a simple question. I donate money to establish a scholarship fund for black kids.

I think that's great, well done, keep doing that.

No. You're entitled to donate your money to whomever you wish.
But that in and of itself doesn't mean you're not a "racist bigot asshole".
And even if you were a "racist bigot asshole" I'd argue against you receiving a "public flogging" for being that way.

Racist - a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another.

a person who is intolerant towards those holding different opinions.
