When I become a God and need to get the whole thing started, I’m pretty sure I’m going to use the “Let there be light” quote because it so badass. I don’t think I’m going to give credit to Elohim who for all we know probably ripped it off from some other God.

This quotation is widely attributed to Disraeli but I haven't been able to find an actual source for it. There were two Benjamin Disraelis—a British prime minister and a romance novelist—and bizarrely they were the same guy. He was a leading politician from a middle-class background who supported his upper-class career in part by writing popular fiction, as if Margaret Thatcher had simultaneously been Jackie Collins. So between his many speeches and his dozen-odd novels Disraeli said a lot of things. Maybe he did originate that line about success.

He's also a magnet for misattribution, however. So it's hard to be sure who really said this line first. It just wasn't McKay.
