I'm sure he is excluding your visible God Trump. Scientific research has had a lot of impact on giving us knowledge about the world around us that we could create a lot of good for humanity. It makes sense that more resources in this area would give us even more knowledge to make decisions impacting humanity for the better, but a lot of money and resources are wasted in other areas.

We have been doing life extension for a long time, and I don't see that stopping anytime soon. If you watch the you-tube video the OP links it talks more about increasing health spans as apposed to life spans.

Exactly! and if we increase our health spans we are probably going to live longer too. The research is not getting the attention it deserves. Most Americans only care about guns and religion.
