Post by _Kevin Graham »

Yesterday I bought Nike shorts, shirt, shoes, headband, hat... does anyone know if Nike makes flag poles?

LOL (flag poles)

I know Nike is profiting off of a cultural moment right now, and I say, good for them, only because they are on the right side of history here. They know they are. Their marketers wouldn't let them do this if they weren't with the bulk of western culture.

Sure, there are still idiots who think kneeling during the anthem is unpatriotic, but you know... they're idiots. They are willfully missing the point of the protest. And they're Drumpf supporters (your first clue they're idiots). They're the racists who claim racism no longer exists in America. They're so stupid, they think they're hurting Nike by burning shoes from which Nike's already made a profit, rather than giving them free advertising and drawing attention to their company, like what happened with Keurig.

You know... idiots.

Whatever. Some won't buy Nikes or Keurig. Some won't buy Chick-Fil-A or Domino's. Spend your $ according to your values as is your right.

That's a given. I was thinking there was something not so obvious.

Oh? I just bought out the local Nike outlet store's inventory, went to an old veterans' home, outfitted every resident personally, and then took the rest to Pioneer Park. There I slung gear like a cracked out Kris Kringle shouting Black Lives Matter while playing world music from NPR. The cops patrolling the park were so moved they began to cry and threw their guns and badges into the trash bins. Motorists stopped their cars to give me a standing ovation.

Nope. NPR doesn’t play music.

The rest, I’m sure, is all true.
