Radio Free Mormon: Unanswered Prayers

Post by _Shulem »

Our prayers remain unanswered:

Radio Free Mormon: 88: Unanswered Prayers

Heavenly Father answers your prayers perfectly, eventually, someday.

But they might not be answered in this life.

OMG, RFM! Your parents were angels to fund you when you got to Japan.

:surprised:

PS. Cold plastic shoes are not very warm. No lining in your coat?

Your prayer won't be granted in this life.

You're blind, baby.

Maybe someone ought to give God a round-to-it. He's the worst procrastinator ever.

Well there is the possibility that there are a lot of prayers God does not intend to answer. People ask this that this that and more , God is thinking, give it a rest , it's not going to happen. Think of something else to pray about.

If you really think about it, if God is perfect and all-powerful it is really stupid to ask him to do something special for you. By definition, he is already going to do all of the best things possible for you and for everyone. For him to deviate from his plan in the smallest of ways would always result in making things worse.

If you really believe in a perfect, all-powerful God, you should pray for him to do whatever it is that he was already going to do, whatever that may be.

If you pray for God to change his plan in any way, it indicates that you either don't believe God is perfect and all-powerful or that you don't spend much time thinking things through.

And with that, fetchface, very subtly (maybe even inadvertently) lampoons Russell M. Nelson for praying, pleading with God to soften the Nov. 2015 policies prohibiting children of married gay people from baptism and Aaronic priesthood ordinations. So, Mr. Nelson, which is it? Do you not believe God is perfect and all-powerful? Or have you, Mr. Nelson, not spent much time thinking things through?

This is precisely why I could never embrace the Great Apostasy story.

Father God creates a world and pours all of his of his love and attention into it, yet for 1/3 of its history denies the entire planet of authority and truth?
