Father God creates a world and pours all of his of his love and attention into it, yet for 1/3 of its history denies the entire planet of authority and truth?
Yep, then he chooses a serial adulterer who pretends to see things in a rock in his hat to restore his one true church. God, what an idiotic backstory to the grand restoration.
Ok, I haven’t listened this podcast yet but I promise that I will so I guess I’m still qualified to make a comment. If I recall correctly from the Bible dictionary, God has all sorts of blessings available for us, but they are contingent upon our asking first. But of course our wish list needs to be within reason, and maybe that’s where these unanswered prayers are coming from.
Similarly, Santa knew that I wanted a Nintendo Entertainment system when I was a young boy but of course I needed to ask first. God has said that if we ask for some bread will he give us a stone? Maybe God is saying that we need to keep our Christmas wish list a little more modest. I don’t know. I’m rambling here.
One more thing. When Garth Brooks wasn’t signing about rage induced homicide due to adultery, he let us know that some of Gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. In this song we learn that some guy really wanted to marry his high school sweetheart and prayed to God to make that happen. But God didn’t answer that prayer and he ended up marrying someone else. Later that guy runs into his old high school girlfriend and finds out she’s a skank now. So you see, “just because he doesn’t answer doesn’t mean he don’t care. Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.” Amen.

It really is a puzzler.
Along with the idea that it was necessary for us to come to earth to gain a physical body and learn to choose good from evil.
Our life on earth has purpose. Coming to earth is part of God's plan for us to gain a physical body and learn to choose between good and evil.
https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/top ... n?lang=eng If gaining a body is essential to our ability to learn to choose good from evil, how come a third of the host of heaven were able to make that choice whilst in the pre mortal life? I’ve prayed about that doozy and all that keeps springing to mind in response is Bernie Madoff for some reason...
“When we are confronted with evidence that challenges our deeply held beliefs we are more likely to reframe the evidence than we are to alter our beliefs. We simply invent new reasons, new justifications, new explanations. Sometimes we ignore the evidence altogether.” (Mathew Syed 'Black Box Thinking')
