What I particularly like is that the defence specifically asked for a light sentence on the grounds that he was so talented.
To which the judge has replied, in effect "Nope. Talent does not give you a right to rape people at a special reduced celebrity rate."
Good news during a depressing time.
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
“If you make people think they're thinking, they'll love you; but if you really make them think, they'll hate you.”

It is a great time for survivors of sexual assault and I am glad many are getting the justice they deserve, but it is not a great time for the wrongfully accused. Up to 41% of sexual assault accusations could be false and it is nearly impossible to prove your innocence. The only way to prove your innocence is to not get accused in the first place. I suspect that about 10-15% of all sexual assault accusations are false and the percentage will increase over time.
