Thank you! I will give you a gift in return for the gift of your video. I'll try to be brief but that's not gonna happen so here is what I have to say.

Let's remember to appreciate the night! I have two things to say and then hopefully give you a little gift.

1. Anyone whose ever posted with me on a board knows I stay up late at night or I am up in the night, or both. ;-) On our property which is full of trees (because forest) is a sight I wish everyone could have. So the back "yard" is full of trees. Picture this. If you sit on the porch and look straight ahead there are 2 very tall Ponderosa Pines. One to the left, one to the right. (And more to the left and right of those but they aren't part of the story.) In between those 2 pines are other pines further to the back. The trees further to the back make a diagonal cut between the 2. Like a slope down to the right. Got it?

Every night around 11 p.m. The Big Dipper (Ursa Major) slips right into that frame like the frame was made for it. :-) I recently shared that sight with a young child. One of the best moments we've ever had!

2. In a few days, we'll be able to see and I think you will too at your location, the Perseid Meteor Shower that rains meteors in the late summer night sky in August. Look for it! I watch it every night every August from the back porch with the lights turned off. I wait for it every summer and this is the week! It's glorious! :-)

3. Here's a little poetry gift from one of my favorite poets. I hope you like it! It's one of my favorite night things, too. :-)

Acquainted with the Night

I have walked out in rain—and back in rain.
I have outwalked the furthest city light.
