Why I Love Mormonism!!!!

You control your thoughts, not them! You control every action in your life, not them! You’re accountable for those actions, not them!

Oh yeah? What if a third-stage Apostle declared to you that the tithing must flow and if you disagreed you would live out the remainder of your life in a pain amplifier?

When my wife and I got married we stopped going to church for 6 months or so. One day we gotta call from the bishop asking if he and the stake President could visit us at home with a seventy from Utah, he was in town speaking at stake conference. After a bunch of small talk, he started telling me why he came to visit me, and started telling me what I need to do for my new little family to be “happy”. Not in a loving way, more in a ,or else this is going to happen to you way, I kicked him out of my house while he apologized all the way to the minivan. I would do the same for a prophet. Only person telling me what to do is Christ himself!! Man up little penguin!

I love that it's a religion that can change their minds from the awful revelations or policies it's leaders make. Many other religions are stuck from the get go.
I love that the Bible isn't fully accepted, yahoo!
I loved the days when we had roadshows, and they didn't have to be spiritual all.the.time!
I loved when Relief Society had their own lessons, not combined with the men's.
I love the Primary sharing times, not exactly all the songs, but the fun had in some of those cute sharing times and what kids will say.
I love the service that I would have been too afraid to attempt had I not been called to it.
I love the growth it gave me when being called in a position I'd never dare do unless I felt obligated.
I love that it helped me have friends, even though they may be fake, but not all luckily.
Well, I won't bore any more, just saying if I had to live a religion, Mormonism ain't so bad as long as I realize it's man made like the rest but still has some value in areas.

Tacenda, I'm glad you can post on this board and even start threads. I too am glad leaders changed their minds about that Policy of Exclusion revelation. Wish there was some way they could rescind that Musket Fire Madness which has gripped BYU and Church HQ. How did the thinking of the Westboro Baptist Church come to dominate Mormonism?

Thanks for your post, you always make me feel welcome. About the church behaving badly on the Musket Fire Madness, I've no idea, but they better stop it, or keep doing it and people will hopefully be able to trust their own minds and guts more.
