Cody WY residents not happy about McTemple ruining views
City council meeting here:

I think we will see more of this as the number of McTemples grows and people realize they don’t want the eye sores in their backyards.

Cody is within the LDS sphere of influence, so there is nothing those residents can do about it.

Current boarder of Deseret? I would have thought it a bit outside, over the boarder. I am not familiar with the town so looked it up and it appears to be focused upon tourists with its old west appearance, museums and Buffalo Bill. Seems a bit of an odd choice for a location to try and add a temple.

Perhaps a Moroni's Saloon-style temple would fit in.huckelberry wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 10:15 pmCurrent boarder of Deseret? I would have thought it a bit outside, over the boarder. It sounded to me like it was only the spire that exceeded the height limit, which it said would not be an occupied space.

Every community has a vested interest in its own livability. That said, when you consider the absolute architectural dreck that is routinely thrown up to house trashy “merchandise,” an LDS temple looks really awesome by comparison.

A hydraulic spire that could rise to 100 feet for dominant majesty during hanky waves and collapse to 30 feet to fit in better with the neighborhood would be ideal. Moroni with a traditional Nephite cowboy hat. Lights off at 10 PM.

LDS as a percentage of the states' populations: Wyoming is third, behind only Utah and then Idaho. Among those in Wyoming, Mormons make up a big influence. Perhaps this is just non-Mormon pushback given how tight-knit Mormons are in areas where they are not uncommon.huckelberry wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 10:15 pmCurrent boarder of Deseret?
