High-quality, unsweetened, real coconut flakes/chips/shavings (I've seen them billed as all of those) are a pretty adaptive food. I think when I mention it people mostly run to artificial coconut or sweetened shreds in their mind but that is a strong and distinct flavor. These are much more subtle and add a nice texture to it. Also very nice on a salad. Some Schmo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 4:49 pmThat pizza sounds pretty good although I admit to wondering about the coconut.
A spicy pina colada pizza... might be good.

If you think pineapple on pizza is too much, go to Japan.
They put corn on pizza.
. . . and squid.
. . . and potatoes.
. . . and seaweed.

I had an Asian style pizza a few weeks ago and seaweed was one of the ingredients. It basically tasted like a stir fry on crust.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 8:04 pmIf you think pineapple on pizza is too much, go to Japan.

The slight saltiness of seaweed probably jives pretty well with pizza. I can’t imagine that it would be stronger or fishier than anchovies, but the texture might be weird if it isn’t dried.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 8:04 pmIf you think pineapple on pizza is too much, go to Japan.

I actually really like pineapple juice, but I’m not a fan of a sweet meat mix (which pineapple creates), nor am I a fan of the texture of pineapple itself. It’s sort of like chewing on a sweet towel.
No judgment, though, as I’ll gladly eat anchovies on pizza, and many folks find those positively disgusting. : )

I remember when Shakey's used to put shrimp on their Hawaiian pizza. That was my first experience tasting both Hawaiian pizza and Canadian bacon. Murphy's Pizza makes a pretty good Hawaiian.
If Pineapple had been in the Aegean, Socrates would have been a big fan of Hawaiian pizza. Two ingredients I would like to try on a pizza are bulgogi and kimchi. I suspect Socrates would be equally curious to try it.

Speaking of pizza. Hideaway Pizza was founded in 1957, which is a fact they always included on their signs. They are a sponsor of KOSU a.k.a. The Spy FM. More signs that signify the significance of the Davidic Servant. Other signs include the fun fact that Parker, was a friend of the friend of God on CBS God Friended Me.Moksha wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 3:11 amI remember when Shakey's used to put shrimp on their Hawaiian pizza.
