I'm going to invite Idiot voters to tell us the real reasons they voted for the orange criminal psychopath. Here are few reason to get you started:

- Kamala is black
- Kamala is female
- I don't know anything about what Biden did in office, but I want to believe he was a disaster
- Idiot's racist policies are awesome
- Idiot will get the revenge I'm impotent to exact on my perceived enemies
- Idiot treats women and colored people like I'd like to if I could get away with it
- I don't pay attention and just trust what rightwing media tells my relatives
- Idiot seems about as stupid as I am, and that makes me feel comfortable

Obviously, I don't expect any responses from Idiot voters. They are incapable of telling the truth. Hell, they tried to tell us it was the economy while Idiot spent several campaign soundbites on idiotic, thoughtless tariffs that economists predicted would have a deleterious effect on the economy, not to mention his mishandling of the pandemic leading to supply chain issues and massive inflation.

So they are either lying about the economy as their main motivator (likely) or too stupid to understand how bad Idiot is for the economy (also likely).

That's a very perceptive comment. I agree with this 100%. Trump is arrogant, ignorant, reckless, cruel and dumb. He looks to scratch that itch as quickly as he can. He lies, he cheats, he bullies, he steals, all to get what he wants. He is incapable of getting what he wants the legal, ethical, and moral way.

Americans have been trained to expect to get what they want quickly. Carefulness and judiciousness are qualities they have no time for when they are reaching for the remote control or hitting the "Buy Now" button.

Trump speaks to their frustrations with a slow-moving government and promises to take care of getting Americans exactly what they want NOW. He acts quickly, he makes a mess, and then his followers make excuses for him. "Well, at least he did something. Did you not want your country back from the mess? Are you against law and order? Do you have no regard for legal immigration?"

Watch Markk's posts. He gives you a dumb idea that approximates a reasonable expectation, he asks the question implying your lack of his great common sense, he praises Trump for doing something about it, and then suggests you are mistaken for complaining about Trump's methods and obvious failures.

The problem is that the foundations of the discussion are all built of dry sand. We begin from clumsy, inaccurate, and uninformed assumptions about basic questions and then proceed to throw out questions, claims, and accusations. It is necessary to step back to the fundamentals, not lob propaganda bombs.

Take, for example, the comments on borders. What does a border mean and to whom? What is it supposed to do? Is our understanding of it shared or idiosyncratic? What should we want from borders? When can they be said to not work?

These questions come before declaring our borders a failure. Is the border a Berlin Wall? Is it a turnstile before the subway? We need to dig into the productive questions first.
