Cult(are) of Abuse is the title of an article by A.R. Moxon, a writer that I've been following for some time now. I think he has a way of addressing difficult and touchy topics in a way that is thoughtful. This column is about abuse and how we respond to abuse. HIs definition of abuse is broader than we usually think of it -- it's any inappropriate use of power to harm another.
I think he makes some very good points about how we tend to focus on the abuser more than the abused using the extended metaphor of a father choking his son. I'm curious to hear about how others react. It's a long read, but worth it in my opinion.
