Our consciousness is dependent upon biology, which is dependent upon chemicals, etc, etc. Everyone can recognize a structure of critical dependencies. You can't sheetrock a house without framing it first. Our consciousness, our thoughts, are dependent upon a
biological framework.

Therefore everything our consciousness creates, from Government to Mormon Discussions, is dependent upon biology. Perhaps God exists outside of biology, but the perception of God exists within our consciousness, which is dependent upon biology.

This virus does not read John Locke, Karl Marx or Ayn Rand. It does not understand the concept of individual freedom. It has evolved to attach to and replicate from human DNA. it does not care about the consciouness attached to that DNA.

Science tells us that in order to fight the virus we need to alter our behavior. Darwin tells us that the race is not to the fastest or the strongest, but to the most adaptable. Humans are not the fastest or the strongest, but their intelligence led them to be adaptable in ways other organisms are not. Our intelligence also can lead us into hubris, where we place our intelligence, our consciousness at the head of the table. Our hubris tells us that our thoughts ARE the world. We forget our thoughts are dependent upon biology.

So nature tests our knowledge. Covid-19 is the pop quiz. Global Warming is the first big test.
