No need to wait for Blixa's wrath, you can have mine. I am a Ute alum as an undergrad. Nothing was as sweet as a victory over Moroni Tech. Fortunately, that happened often.

Agreed. And it's too bad really. Considering what people usually mean when they say "liberal" and "conservative," we'd have a much better conversation if the terms hadn't been co-opted and so badly confused.

Two areas where my opinion has changed some:
My opinion on abortion has softened a bit. I still don't like abortion, consider late-term abortion wrong, but think it's settled law and don't think we should spend too much time focused on it as a nation while we are $16 trillion in debt with much bigger problems.
I no longer think homosexuality is a sin (I don't believe in the notion of "sin" anymore). However, even as a TBM, I've always thought that people should be free to do what they want as long as it doesn't impact me in any way. Today, I think the government should be completely out of marriage. Individual citizens, gay or straight, should have the same rights whether or not they are married. No married person should get any special benefits because they are married. If the government has a role in marriage, it should only be on enforcement of "contracts" that people enter into when they marry, just like any other contract. For example, how to enforce child support payments or division of assets upon separation, enforcement of wills & trusts, etc. That shouldn't depend on whether you are gay or straight.

One is in Paraguay and the other, the east slope of Argentina--both at spots remote enough that what governments there are basically leave them alone.

That is precisely the reason it is an issue that won't go away. Unwanted pregnancies can be curbed in number through birth control methods--and no, LDS, abstinence is not a solution--but unwanted pregnancies will never be entirely prevented. So, how should they be dealt with? There is no easy solution. While I think there are some merits to the approach taken in Roe v Wade, I think a big part of it was that during the first trimester there is no visible baby bump, regardless of the fetus being not viable outside the womb at that stage.
