Whatever one thinks, it is rather obvious the church thinks/believes that temples are of paramount importance.
It's also readily apparent the Church thinks the Facsimiles are of paramount importance too because they keep publishing that crap and won't stop.

A Facsimile from the Book of Abraham No. 2
A Facsimile from the Book of Abraham No. 3

As one who has been to the temple more times than I could possibly count, I can tell you that the writing in Fig. 8 of Facsimile No. 2 is NOT had in the temple. Joseph Smith was making crap up out of thin air because he could not read the writing. He was the Troll of trolls.

Go fish, MG.

It does seem like the church views the number of temples as representative of the success of the church.

I think that’s flawed, to say the least.
Truthfully? I think the temples are representative of God's love for all of His children.
Mormon God demonstrates His love for all His children by having a load of ornate buildings built that only people who pay 10% of their income can use? Is that how you show your love for your children?

Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

I am not sure whether that image is an accurate enough transcription to make it useful to Egyptologists (Ritner?), but are we able to say what those hieroglyphs actually do mean?

An important thing to remember that critics often seem to either forget or ignore is that tithing remains the primary, ongoing source of funding for general Church operations, including building and maintaining temples globally.

It is the sacrifice and willingness to contribute to the work of the Lord that temples throughout the earth are in operation.

As can be seen, even here (surprise surprise), the vehemence and hatred of temples is something that almost defies description.

Brigham Young prophesied that whenever Latter-day Saints began building a temple, "all hell was in arms against us," meaning Satan and his forces fiercely oppose temple construction because temples provide power and protection against him, allowing for sacred ordinances like baptism for the dead. He famously stated, "We never began to build any temple without the bells of hell beginning to ring," but also expressed eagerness to hear those bells ring again, showing resolve to build despite opposition for the work of salvation.

His prophecy is evident today.

Show us the books, LDS church, so that we can verify what your apologists say about funding - otherwise it's just an empty claim.

As for "hating" temples? I would say that is simply one person's interpretation. It feeds into the need for persecution. Many of us see other reasons to be unenthusiastic about temple building.

Brigham Young said a lot of things, including many that the Mormons now disavow.

It most certainly *is* accurate enough to be translated and has been by several Egyptologists, including Ritner:
Robert K. Ritner wrote:O noble god from the beginning of time, great god, lord of heaven, earth, underworld, waters [and mountains,] cause the ba-spirit of the Osiris Sheshonq to live.

Fig., 11, 10, 9, 8; Ritner, Robert Kriech (2013). The Joseph Smith Egyptian Papyri: A Complete Edition

The name of Osiris Sheshonq was not taught in the Kirtland or Nauvoo temples.

Temples produced by the Mormons with their accompanying doctrines was not something that Jesus taught.

Jesus would never have approved of what goes on in the Mormon temples.

As far as I understand New Testament teachings in the gospels, the Mormon temples today are antichrist operations designed to enslave the minds and hearts of poor people who are willing to submit to brainwashing.

What goes on in temples since the days of Joseph Smith is despicable!

I am proud to have broken those nasty-ass covenants that are inspired by Satan.
