And you probably do.

But he should think about his audience.

When you use the word "tribe" you invoke The Gods Must Be Crazy.

There are many other words to use, of course, that don't invoke condescension.

Is Craig Criddle your husband?

Excuse me, Belmont, where have you seen Criddle use the word tribe to an "audience".

You used it. I assumed that you had read it from him.

I've read it many times over from him. As I implied earlier, when he refers to LDS as his tribe he is using it in terms of "family" and not the rhetorical nonsense you ascribe to his use of it.

You don't know the man and yet you allow yourself free reign to characterize him in the most disparaging ways.

Now why is that?

See this, Belmont?

"Tribe" connotes a primitive and ignorant people who are unable to grasp the most rudimentary science and human understanding. As if a Coke bottle landed in Salt Lake City or Provo, and "the Mormon Tribe" declared "the Gods must be crazy!" But of course, those silly Mormons find hilarious uses for the Coke bottle, like leather working, and dough rolling (if they can manage to make dough). Let us sit upon our thrones of superior knowledge and laugh at them! Ha!

This is coming from your mind and your keyboard, not the mind or keyboard of Craig Criddle.

  • He only links to anti-Mormon websites (except when called on the carpet, then he hurriedly throws on some links to LDS.org).
  • The front page of his website claims that Mormonism, JWism, and SDAism represent "shattered dreams and wasted lives."

I cannot think of anything more anti-Mormon, or more offensive than that.

Yet you can't show anything inaccurate on the site like asked many times. You have never backed this up and you know it. You also define anti-mormon in a meaningless way only used to attack others. So but this is BS, and I doubt hardly any take you seriously here.

Themis, the Jehovah’s Witnesses encourage members to witness door to door. To be a “Pioneer” you need to be witnessing about 60 hours per week.” The JW message is that all other churches are part of the great whore found in Revelation and that the only way to find salvation is through The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society because Jesus picked them as God’s only channel in 1919.

Picture a man in his 70s trying to make his election sure by continuing in the élite Pioneer class. He has been doing this for 10 years.

What he is selling door to door is a lie. In a sense he is wasting his life by spending 60 hours per week proclaiming a false message.

My article on the Jehovah’s Witnesses ends with these words:
Closing Arguments:

When a judge evaluates a claim in a court of law, he weighs evidence surrounding the claim to see if there are inconsistencies. This last claim by the Jehovah’s Witnesses not only lacks corroborating evidence, the facts of history clearly deny its authenticity. Based upon these findings, why would anyone believe the Watchtower Society’s claim that Jesus picked them as

“God’s only channel for communicating the truth.”

Let’s talk plainly here: The Jehovah’s Witnesses have no exclusive “channel of communication” with God. People don’t need to be held captive by their empty words.

Our God and Father desires to fellowship and communicate with his children through His son Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The God of the Bible has not limited Himself to speaking only through the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society’s publications and leadership.

I know this might make me sound weak. However, I'm thinking of re-wording my header to make it less of a put off to some. "Wasted lives" could hit the cutting room floor. I see no need to keep the term.

If removing it meant that one more person would read an article that would be worth it to me. I may make more changes. I would hate it if these 15 pages of thread were a big waste of our time.

A female poster challenges your assertions regarding Craig Criddle and you're only thought is that he might be her husband.

Would you ask the same question of Uncle Dale or Roger?

Rich-If you are stating that belonging to the LDS Church is, indeed, a waste of one's life, then yes, I, as a member of the LDS church, find that statement offensive.

Even though I am, in some ways, not the most conventional of Mormons, I have still devoted a large portion of my life to the LDS faith. I do not think that my life has been wasted in any way by doing so. I have learned a lot from being a member of the LDS Church, and I don't know that I would be the same person if I had not been brought up in the Church.

I have managed to incorporate my own thoughts and values in what I view as a healthy way to live my religion.

Your advice, and perspective, is the type of criticism that I can easily take to heart.

I’ll go ahead and re-word the header. Thanks.

You think it's a lie. He does not. So what? Let him live his religion however he wants to without you calling it a "lie" and telling him he is proclaiming a "false message." First of all, you don't know it's a lie and a false message, and second of all why the hell do you think you are supposed to judge other religions? Leave them and us alone, and proclaim your own message, Rich!

My article on the Jehovah’s Witnesses ends with these words:

Words which further prove that you have no tolerance for people whose faiths happen to be different from yours. Words which further prove that you would rather waste your own life attacking people and religions which you think waste other people's lives.

I know this might make me sound weak. However, I'm thinking of re-wording my header to make it less of a put off to some. "Wasted lives" could hit the cutting room floor. I see no need to keep the term.

And "shattered dreams" is better? C'mon, Rich. Enough of this charade. I see right through you. You absolutely hate anything different from you.
