It was written by Shades. His blog used to be focused on profiles of MAD Banites.

Hopefully he'll get back in on near universal popularity like I was.

edit: Mike Reed, not a TBM, also spoke up - thanks Mike!

Arg! That's sad. I appreciate you sticking up for me, but I'm sorry that it got you banned. I wasn't participating all that much on MAD in recent months, but did appreciate the ability to go post there from time to time. I guess we really don't perceive ourselves the way others perceive us, and I'm seeing that I really, really, really pissed off someone over at MAD, the way this has gone down. I'm freaking IP-banned now, too, so I can't even read the board anymore (without going out and using some proxy). Seriously, what did I do that got someone's goat so badly? I just don't see it, but then again, we never do.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

You said you were leaving voluntarily.
Right. But they didn't just let me walk away. They banned me and locked my account, preventing me from being able to access it in the future.

How do you know, since you said you were leaving? Better watch it, or Mr. Scratch will be calling you a liar. :D

Liar? Whatever do you mean? I wanted to keep my account open so that I could access my contacts and old posts. Also, I explicitly stated, "I may come back later if the moderation lightens up... but for the moment, I think I could better spend my time elsewhere."
Oh, and why do you care?
Why do you care if I care?

The problem is that MAD wants what MAD simply cannot have. MAD wants to be able to claim it confronts critics' accusations and soundly defeats them. MAD cannot have this because the church isn't true, and most of its truth claims are fairy tales. It's not that critics are smarter or better at debate - it's that the MAD believers are holding the wrong end of the stick.
Does anyone doubt, for one tiny minute, that if LDS truly felt like they were "winning" these debates they wouldn't be so frustrated??? In the early days of ZLMB, TBMs enjoyed the rough debate - but the vast majority of critics, at that time, were EVs from the Tanners' old board. As soon as the balance among critics shifted to secular critics, THEN the whining and frustrations started among the LDS, eventually resulting in the exodus and creation of FAIR.
They don't really want to completely exclude critics, because then they look like the cowards they've always accused RFM of being. They want critics, but they want to WIN the debates. Since they can't, they're doomed to continual frustration.
Frankly, I think it's hilarious.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Apparently, based on what I read in another thread, Nehor made an announcement here that he was going to be gone for X number days. But instead he as only gone X minus Y number of days. So Mr. Scratch basically called him a liar. That's what I meant.

Well then, you have have simply and quietly slipped away without the annoucement. Kind of dumb to be poking the moderators in the eye if you wanted to maintain contact possibilities.
