The funny thing is that most of my gay friends are in committed relationships and have been for a long time. I'm sure that statistically, a lot of gay men have many partners, but I've always thought that's more of a function of being marginalized and condemned by the broader culture than it is about personal depravity.

Perhaps you can clear something up, Paul. Would you say that repressing your sexual desires for close to 50 years had any detrimental effects on you, sexually or otherwise? According to Droopy, you would be the same "debauched" person had you never tried to deny your same-sex attraction.
