But you condemn my cousin just the same. The funny thing is that most of my gay friends are in committed relationships and have been for a long time. I'm sure that statistically, a lot of gay men have many partners, but I've always thought that's more of a function of being marginalized and condemned by the broader culture than it is about personal depravity. People who can get past being treated as pariahs tend to have healthier and more committed relationships.

I've been paying attention. I'm still waiting for some evidence that gays' existence (let alone their being permitted to marry or enter into civil unions) has a detrimental effect on the "viability" of society. Hasn't been presented yet.

Unfortunately for the LDS Church's truth claims, the ancient Hebrews were culturally and ethnically Canaanite. The Canaanites weren't black - the were racially indistinguishable from Hebrews. This was a common 19th century misconception, but like so many popular but mistaken ideas, it became frozen in time in Mormonism once it was canonized.

The Hebrew religion and the Hebrew people are really an offshoot of the Canaanites. Hebrews are to Canaanites as German Lutherans are to German Catholics.

If you can show that it's a lie, please do. I tend to believe that suppression of sexuality often results in unhealthy sexual attitudes and behaviors, such as the promiscuity you describe. It's been shown, for example, that people who during childhood and adolescence associate severe guilt with sexuality are more likely to have sadomasochistic and other control-related issues with sexuality than those who grow up in a healthier environment. I don't see how gay people would be much different, but I'd love to hear what you have to say about it.
