Doctrine and Covenants Section 20 wrote:O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.
No! I'm not going to drink wine or water that is made to symbolize another person's blood which was supposedly shed for sins. That is just gross! This sacramental rite is barbaric and should not be practiced by anyone. It's a cult incantation that glorifies Jehovah's continuous thirst for blood and unwillingness to forgive sin out of natural love from the heart. No one needs to die for someone's sins. Nobody needs to suffer for someone's wrong doings. Animals need not be slaughtered and neither does God have to come down and hang on a cross.
Christian doctrine is repugnant and should be loudly protested by those of conscience who refuse to bend the knee to Christian tyranny. The Crusades are over. Christianity is not the window dressing for virtue. A belief in Christ saving people from hell is not helping people love themselves and rely upon their own virtue and strength. Christianity is about laying guilt upon everyone's back and making people feel they aren't good enough no matter what they do.
I encourage everyone to set aside their faith in Jesus Christ and confess that you don't need Jesus and his blood to feel love and be loved in this universe. Put Jesus down. Lay aside the cult and learn to live and stand on your own two feet!
Amen.
