The problem is you have come in with the premise that the death penalty is murder and barbaric. As with your other political positions, you won't be swayed from this position. Therefore, it makes no sense to even bother debating the merits or faults of it. Since debate is useless, I am closing this thread.
I see this as being symbolic and systemic regarding conservative LDS thought on many levels.
