Ajax, how do you think proper conservative policy will be determined and maintained in this new nation?
Obviously we won't agree on everything. I personally would love to have seen social security gone yesterday. Yet Rush Limbaugh pointed out that no Republican (in spite of the Democrat talking point) has ever tried to cut social security. I'm just saying it would be a lot easier to function as country when you agree on more than you disagree. Trump and I are close enough to negotiate. People on this board and I are too far apart to even start a conversation. It's dysfunctional.
There are after all people who are seen as rino. Will they be allowed in this country? What if they stay and end up taking over the policy making?
I hope not. You all would have to take Romney. We don't want him.
What if the true passionate conservatives end up dividing in disagreement with each other?
Then we have smaller nation states? What's wrong with that?
I live in the red area of Washington state. There has always been movement of people to the blue side looking for better jobs. Will that be a problem for your new country?
Are they going to work for Bill Gates? Is he even a Republican? I would imagine lower corporate tax rates and "corporate welfare," would attract plenty of capital into our new country for those willing to work. I don't think impassioned speeches by Comrade Graham for the wealthy to step up and pay their fair share will drive money to his side of the wall but I could be wrong. We won't know until we try it out.
Even though the county I live in has a majority of Republicans it also has lots of liberals. It has few people who would agree with extremes. How is this new country going to deal with a large population who is against it, its dreams and this fantasy country?
We might be a small country at first. But even if you only start with a small community of people doing things right, success will become attractive to the rest of the world.
There were a few American people who emigrated from the USA to the USSR because of their strong socialist convictions. But for the most part it was the other way around.
I have a friend who grew up in East Germany. He still thinks and believes like a communist. It's how he was raised. Yet why did he choose to come to the USA to live? Sometimes there's a disconnect in the liberal mind between what they do and what they preach and I don't think they're purposely being hypocritical. In any event he's seems to have adjusted well and as long as we don't talk politics we get along. But yeah, the new constitution would prohibit the purchase of votes with income tax dollars. Communism would be discriminated against.
