POOF! All the Democrats in America were whisked away to Venezuela.

The genie turns to the Republican and said, "And what is your wish?"

I imagine this would make any addled idiot laugh. I'm sure it would make people laugh who think it's ok to separate kids from their families, or enjoy burning insects with a magnifying glass. Cruelty is just hilarious, isn't it?

Yeah -- it's not a joke about real Democrats, but about a caricature of Democrats. The Republican in the joke may also be something of a caricature, but rather less so: you will sometimes hear a Republican invite Democrats to leave the US, but never hear a Democrat say "gosh, I sure wish our government was like Venezuela's."
