Do you know any Mormons who have kept all the commandments?
Kind of makes you wonder what the point of being Mormon is. I can break all the commandments I want for free. Gives me a 10% raise and I can do what I want Sundays.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

Because you appear to be cherry-picking the parts that are convenient for you but rejecting the parts that are inconvenient for you, rather than obeying ALL the commandments to the extent that you are able. . . Thus inventing your own religion.
Well, I have yet to recruit anyone to my "new religion". I haven't asked for a single penny. I haven't appointed anyone in a position of authority. I haven't told anyone I speak directly with a celestial being. Wouldn't you say I kinda suck at inventing a religion?
You don’t need to do any of those things in order to invent your own religion, whether or not you suck at doing so.

It strikes me as hilarious that this, in one Mormon's mind, constitutes starting a religion:

- Attracting members
- Asking for money
- Setting up a hierarchy
- Lying about a tight connection with a god

I mean, yep... that's about the extent of it.

Is there a 12 step program for that? There should be.

Mormonism is as bad as alcoholism in terms of the massive damage it does to one's brain.

To be fair, Mormonism is far from the only religion that does that.
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

No. You've invented your own religion for your own personal use. You merely call it "Mormonism."
Actually, I haven't found a Mormon yet who is able to keep all the commandments. . . Do you know any Mormons who have kept all the commandments?
Did you miss the part where I said "to the extent that you are able?"
