No. My point is that people will say anything. People lie. Polls are only as reliable as the respondents and the people who formulate the questions and report the results.

The ideal behind Representatives is that you elect a person that you consider wiser than yourself. That means, often times, the representative does not support your direct interests.

The Marist poll lists respondents as 95% registered voters, though, so they must have asked them if they were registered, not just identified with. Still the same problem, but the link specified 'registered'

It’s not 100% clear, but I think the “registration” is voter registration, not party registration. The survey results describe “party” as an identification. So, two questions: are you registered to vote? and do you identify with any political party?
