Nope, that's not the point at all, as the article made clear. The question is why, when it was well known that Trump was summoning a large group of angry supporters to Washington to protest the certification of the election, many of them from groups such as the Proud Boys who tend to go armed, and that these people were planning to demonstrate in front of the Capitol with his encouragement, no effective provision had been made to exclude them from the building by deploying the National Guard, and the heavily armed Capitol Police made little effort to keep them out.
Had they been black, don't you think that the shooting would have started as soon as they started to push their way into the building?

What if activists aren’t PR firms for politicians & their demands are bc police budgets are exploding, community resources are shrinking to bankroll it, & people brought this up for ages but it wasn’t until they said “defund” that comfortable people started paying attn to brutality

The thing that critics of activists don’t get is that they tried playing the “polite language” policy game and all it did was make them easier to ignore.
It wasn’t until they made folks uncomfortable that there was traction to do ANYTHING even if it wasn’t their full demands.

The whole point of protesting is to make people uncomfortable.
Activists take that discomfort w/ the status quo & advocate for concrete policy changes. Popular support often starts small & grows.
To folks who complain protest demands make others uncomfortable... that’s the point.
Please explain exactly how you get from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez saying that it was alright to use a slogan that might make voters uncomfortable to her being OK with a violent assault on a joint session of Congress held to certify the election of the next President? Seems a bit of a stretch to me ...
