Ah, I seem to remember saying at the time that replacing Biden with Kamala was political malpractice. I didn't want to be right at the time, and I was genuinely impressed with how she seemed to have improved since 2019 as a politician, but as I reflect on it now, I think my instinct may have been partially right.

At the same time, I don't think we can overlook the idiocy of the electorate. I can't get past them as the primary source of blame. In the world we grew up in, where politicians were graded on character, Harris is a good candidate. The problem is that's not the world we live in any more.
Sorry I did not give you deserved credit, Schmo. Thanks for reminding me.

No, absolutely not. The Republicans are not to blame for our failure to win the election. yet I continue to see progressives on TV asserting exactly that. The reality is that we have a president who garnered 81 million votes, which is 12 million more than what Obama received. This marks the highest number of votes ever garnered by a presidential candidate in the history of presidential elections. A group of apprehensive Democratic elites sidelined the only presidential candidate in history who garnered over 80 million votes. This will be remembered as the most significant error in the history of presidential elections. If Biden remains the nominee, even with a 10% decrease in support from his 2020 voters, he would still secure the presidency in 2025. George Clooney, Oprah, the Clintons, and the Obamas have made a significant error. They became fearful and believed that investing 1.5 billion dollars would conceal Harris's shortcomings.
You’re preaching to the choir in this case HOH. I was the lone voice in conversations raising this issue. Everyone said I was nuts.
I no longer recognize my Democratic Party. They made a significant mistake by replacing the only president in history to receive over 80 million votes in a presidential election with a candidate who was the first to drop out of the 2020 primary. Now, there are discussions about potentially removing the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice from the bench before Trump is elected, citing her age and her struggle with type 1 diabetes. This indicates a readiness to engage in ageism and ableism towards Sotomayor in order to advance the progressive agenda. We need to begin to understand that Democrats did not behave this way three decades ago. This type of irrational behavior is unrelated to the actions or treatment we receive from Republicans. This relates entirely to the 12% progressive minority within our party that, for some reason, holds the power to dictate the agenda. They have completely messed everything up, and now we must endure four years of Donald Trump as President. Or I suppose they could push out the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice, which would further diminish the Hispanic voting bloc in 2026. I'm sure they will choose wisely!

Democrats have been out to lunch for a very long time. I have never been one, by the way. I voted Republican up to 2004. After that, I have voted mostly Democrat. In recent years, exclusively Democrat. But I can’t bring myself to join the party, and some of what you say is counted among the reasons for my abstention. Democrats seem more interested in being right than winning. They learn lessons too late and then misapply them. Unfortunately, Republicans are much, much worse.

It's no big deal. It's actually something I've been thinking about a lot the last couple days, weighing it's impact compared to simple electorate ignorance.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.
