I don't know about 'pretentious ass'.
But maybe you might be inclined to over-confidence if you thought that you had access to a reliable means of deciding whether a given book should be dropped into the 'good book' box or the 'not good book' box, or that a judgment of that kind might be useful to potential readers of whatever happened to be the book in question.
The same goes for "the top ten list of "All Time Greatest Movies" ", I suggest.
And what is it that worries you about 'disputatious'? Sometimes that word can do a job that other words can't in conveying a certain attitude towards the person qualified by it in a piece of writing. It could even be used of me for writing this response to your posts ...
