The kid is now a grown ass adult. Recovering junkie. Or maybe he is just a junkie. LAPD does not acknowledge having anyone in custody.

I've since seen a couple of other photographs of the kid/grown ass adult. Judging from the look in his eyes, yep, he was going to kill someone someday.

In other news, I had no idea Rob Reiner was married to Anjelica Huston. That's two celebrities in one criminal incident.

The reason I said Meathead slung a lot of crap is because he slung a lot of crap. Seems things got nasty.

From What Did Trump Do Today:
Donald Trump’s Truth Social post about Rob Reiner’s death is not merely tasteless or inappropriate; it is a window into a profoundly disordered moral compass that should alarm anyone who believes the presidency requires even a baseline level of empathy, restraint, or psychological stability. Faced with the deaths of a beloved cultural figure and his wife, Trump’s instinct was not condolence, humility, or even silence, but gloating cruelty—using a moment of grief to recycle a personal vendetta, invent a pseudo-medical slur, and imply that political disagreement is so pathological it can literally kill. This is not political rhetoric; it is the language of a man who cannot distinguish between public office and personal grievance, between national leadership and online harassment.

The post is especially grotesque in how it weaponizes death itself. Trump does not merely insult Rob Reiner; he suggests that Reiner and his wife somehow died because of their criticism of Trump, framing dissent as a “mind crippling disease” and implying moral or biological punishment for opposition. That kind of thinking—where disagreement is treated as pathology and enemies are blamed for their own deaths—is not just juvenile, it is disgustingly authoritarian at its core. It reflects a worldview in which loyalty to Trump is equated with health, sanity, and virtue, while criticism is framed as insanity deserving ridicule even in death. That is the mindset of a cult leader, not a constitutional president.

Equally damning is Trump’s utter inability to separate personal insecurity from public responsibility. Rob Reiner’s career, activism, and legacy are not engaged on their merits; instead, Trump reduces an accomplished filmmaker and lifelong advocate for civil rights to a cartoon villain in Trump’s own self-mythology. The obsessive repetition of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” in a death notice is projection in its purest form: a president so consumed by perceived slights that he cannot process a human tragedy without centering himself. When the office of the presidency becomes a vehicle for settling grudges against the dead, it ceases to function as a democratic institution at all.

The cruelty is compounded by timing and context. This was not an offhand remark at a rally or a crude joke caught on a hot mic; it was a deliberate, written statement issued as an official reaction to reported deaths. Trump had time to reflect, to reconsider, to choose restraint. Instead, he chose mockery, dehumanization, and conspiracy-tinged insinuation. That choice speaks volumes about temperament. Presidents are tested most clearly not in moments of triumph, but in moments that demand decency. Trump fails that test reflexively and repeatedly.

What makes this episode particularly damning is how cleanly it vindicates Reiner’s own warnings. Reiner argued that Trump was mentally unfit, uniquely unqualified, and dangerous to democratic norms. Trump’s response to Reiner’s death—using the occasion to lash out, lie, and smear—reads less like a rebuttal and more like an exhibit. It demonstrates exactly the emotional instability, narcissism, and moral vacancy that critics have flagged for years. There is no governing philosophy here, no respect for pluralism, no recognition of shared humanity—only grievance, dominance, and self-worship.

A president sets the tone for a nation. Trump’s tone in this moment is one of cruelty without limits, contempt without context, and power exercised without conscience. If the presidency requires judgment, empathy, emotional regulation, and respect for human dignity, then this post alone is disqualifying. It is not just beneath the office—it actively degrades it. And it makes painfully clear that Donald Trump is not merely unwilling to meet the standards of the presidency; he is fundamentally incapable of understanding why those standards matter at all.

Also, cry me a damned river. Since when was nasty and ugly off-limits to self-declared victims?

Nick Reiner, the son, has been arrested. This is truly tragic given the son's struggles with drug addiction, mental health issues (including schizophrenia/bipolar disorder) and homelessness. Horrible news.
