Nightlion passed away last spring.
I am very sorry to hear this.
You are? He probably didn't vote for Kamala.

You need to expand your horizons. Not everyone espouses exclusionism and intolerance. I am not a MAGA bigot.

Everyone has their self-interests. It's what motivates humans (and non-humans) despite all the windows-dressing they throw out as a part of their attempts at persuasion.

By all means fight for your self-interests. That's how animals are programmed. Me too. But do be upfront about what they are if you care about persuading anyone outside your silo- if you want to be taken seriously by anyone outside of your political tribe.

What are your motives? Come clean. It's good for the soul.

Question: if a person feels threatened, whether immediately, or over the long haul, do you begrudge them their attempts at preserving their position? You may not like their position, but how is their position wrong? This is another way of asking where you derive your moral outrage and what your motives are. Are you grown-up enough to have a conversation that discusses these matters honestly?

I do not know who he voted for. He might not have voted for her. He sometimes said some things I did not agree with but he did that without sprays of pointless insults or calling folks Marxist so he was pleasant to read. Further he liked AC DC

I reported whiskey's post above as being inappropriate for Terrestrial, and asked if it could be moved, as it mocked one of our own who has passed away. Shades closed my report without any action, sadly.

Nightlion sent me a copy of his book many years ago, even though I am not a believer, an act which I found touching and incredibly kind on his part. May he rest in peace.

Eta: After I posted the above, Shades apparently changed his mind and decided to move Whiskey's derailment.

I'm glad I took the time to go and visit him at his visitors' center on November 25, 2014. I did a write-up about it at:
