Lem as I look back over that old post which was a copy of the CNN breaking news scroll, it looks like it says that Trump called in the Nat'l Guard. I do absolutely recall hearing a commentator (?) say that Pence made a call to tell them to hurry it up.
So...I guess we are left to remain confused until this all gets sorted.
I still can’t get this straight. At some point, Trump’s press Secretary released a statement that the President had activated the National Guard. Then there was a written statement issued, I think, by the DC National Guard, that said Pence and Congressional Leaders made the request. Today, I read something from the DOD, which has decision making authority, that Pence was not involved.
If the article Doc posted is accurate, it was 90 minutes from the request to Maryland for Guard troops until Approval was given. As I understand it, there were calls from multiple sources to multiple sources involving three different Guard Units. I think it’s going to take some kind of formal investigation to sort out how this all worked.
“You were a former member of the cabinet, in addition to being White House chief of staff,” Tapper noted, alluding to Kelly’s six-month tenure as DHS secretary. “If you were in the cabinet right now, would you vote to remove him from office?”
Kelly paused for a beat or two and then stammered a bit as he said: “I — yes, I would.”

CNN’s Kaitlin Collins reports: “White House officials were shaken by Trump’s reaction to a mob of his supporters descending on the Capitol today. He was described to me as borderline enthusiastic because it meant the certification was being derailed. It has genuinely freaked people out.”

I tend to think and believe that there will be a full investigation into yesterday's deadly crap show. Phone records, video footage, face to face conversations, the whole nine yards.

What gets me (unless something has changed) is how cabinet members are jumping ship when aren't THEY the one's who could 25th Amendment him out of office? I can't decide if they are patriots in protest or simply cowards.
