No charge s in the Jacob Blake shooting
No Charges Against Police Officers in Jacob Blake Shooting in Kenosha
Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley announced Tuesday afternoon that no police would face criminal charges in the August 2020 shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake Jr., which triggered large riots in the Wisconsin town.
“No Kenosha law enforcement officer in this case will be charged with any criminal offense,” Graveley said, adding that Blake would also not be charged, and describing his review of the facts and the law as an “exhaustive investigation.”
Blake was shot seven times from behind after an altercation with police who were trying to arrest him on Aug. 23. Blake was wanted on charges that included sexual assault, and his alleged victim called 911 after he came to her residence. He fought police and evaded a Taser, allegedly reaching for a knife inside his car before he was shot. He is paralyzed from the waist down; he pleaded guilty to lesser charges in November and received two years’ probation in a deal with prosecutors.
The Black Lives Matter movement embraced Blake as one of its iconic victims; he was hailed by Democrats, including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who met with Blake’s family and initially blamed police and “systemic racism” for the shooting.
Graveley began his remarks by pleading with the community that “rather than burning things down,” as happened after Blake was shot in late August last year, residents use his “narrow” decision about the prosecution to begin a “healing process.”

What a colossal waste of taxpayer dollars dealing with this pos Jacob Blake! They burn the town down in "mostly peaceful," protest only to find out that the case isn't even worthy of a criminal charge! Guess who gets to pay to rebuild all this infrastructure they destroyed! The lesson to come from this is that when a ghetto welfare queen calls 911 saying that her ex is back in violation of his restraining order, don't try to arrest him, don't try to fight with him if he resists, don't even respond to the call. Whatever you do or don't do, it's going to be the police officers fault. I hope they do defund the police. Wall them off and let them deal with it themselves. Better yet, make them pay for their own policing and court costs!

Washington Post Issues Correction Admitting Jacob Blake WAS Armed When Shot By Police
The Washington Post has issued a major correction admitting that Jacob Blake, the Kenosha, Wisconsin man shot by police in August had, in fact, been armed at the time.
The Post on Tuesday claimed in a tweet that “Police officers won’t be charged in shooting of Jacob Blake, an unarmed Black man who was shot 7 times in the back in Kenosha, Wis.” The article itself claimed Blake was unarmed when he was shot.
But Kenosha District Attorney Michael Gravely debunked that claim at a press conference the same day, saying it was “incontrovertible” that Blake was armed and video footage proved it.
“Very important, Jacob Blake, while actively resisting, arms himself with a knife,” Gravely said. “I continue to hear, I think I heard it at the rally last night, the vigil, where someone again said he was unarmed. It is absolutely incontrovertible that Jacob Blake was armed with a knife during this encounter. Incontrovertible. Most incontrovertible, because Jacob Blake in all of the times he spoke to DCI, admits he possessed a knife.”
The fact that Blake was armed is not new information released this week. It has been known for months, yet the media continued to claim Blake was unarmed as part of its anti-police narrative.
After claiming Blake was unarmed, the Post updated its article with a correction at the top that reads:
An earlier version of this story incorrectly described Jacob Blake as unarmed. While his family has said he was not armed when shot by police, prosecutors on Tuesday said video evidence depicts him holding a knife. The story has been corrected.
Starting in the third paragraph of the article, the Post now includes information about the knife, though it tries to downplay its role in Blake’s shooting:

Blake, who witnesses said had been trying to break up an argument between two women, was shot as he walked back toward his vehicle. In his written report, Graveley said Blake was armed with an open knife he was holding in his right hand. The report also says video footage showed Blake carrying a knife.
Investigators had previously not specified whether officers saw Blake holding a knife, saying days after the shooting that he admitted having one “in his possession.” They did not say at the time whether Blake was holding it or whether the officers involved saw it. Investigators said they found a knife on the driver’s side floor of the vehicle.
According to Graveley’s report Tuesday, Blake told investigators that he dropped the knife near the vehicle and picked it up intending to put it in the car, because it was a gift he wanted to keep. In the report, Blake is quoted as saying his knife was closed and questioning: “Why would I pull a knife on a cop . . . that’s just stupid.”
At the press conference on Tuesday, Gravely explained how Blake resisted police.
“There are many commands disobeyed and that’s not only talked about by all the officers, but that’s admitted by Jacob Blake in his statements and there are a number of civilians who talk about that as well,” Gravely said. “And there are multiple ways that officers try to bring Jacob Blake into custody, again, none of those I think visible in any of the videos. They try to direct him to the ground, they try to grab, multiple officers try to grab his arms and secure him so he can be cuffed. He admits at one point officers were trying to ‘handcuff me but I was able to get up.’”
“There’s a time where he’s down on the ground … where a really close viewing of it shows Jacob Blake is on top of someone who has to be officer Sheskey based on everyone else and officer Sheskey says, ‘I was on top of him and then he was on top of me as we were grappling for me trying to get him under arrest,’” Gravely continued. “Most importantly, he was tased twice using remote penetrators and once with a direct strike with taser. So, I’m going to suggest to you three attempts were made to tase Jacob Blake to get him in compliance.”
It should be remembered that police were trying to arrest Blake for allegedly breaking into the home of a woman he knew and then sexually assaulting her. Blake had a felony warrant for his arrest over this allegation at the time the shooting happened. Those charges were dropped after Blake became a national hero to anti-police activists and pleaded guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct in order to get the third-degree sexual assault charge dropped.
The woman had claimed she was asleep in bed with one of her children when Blake broke into the home early in the morning and demanded his belongings. The woman told police Blake then sexually assaulted her with his finger, smelled it, and told her he believed she had been with other men.
The police officer who shot Blake said he did so after hearing a mother desperately pleading, “He’s got my kid. He’s got my keys."

lol. shouldn't you be at the capital, Ajax?
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.

Re: No charge s in the Jacob Blake shooting
Politifact says Jacob Blake was unarmed so anyone who says otherwise is lying. What does that mean? Read the highlighted portion.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/ja ... d=msedgntpIn his first television interview since being shot in the back by police, Jacob Blake admitted that he not only had a knife in his possession at the time of the shooting, but also “dropped” it before picking it up again.

“I realized I had dropped my knife, had a little pocket knife. So I picked it up after I got off of him because they tased me and I fell on top of him,” Blake told Michael Strahan in an interview that aired Thursday on ABC’s Good Morning America (GMA).
“I shouldn’t have picked it up, only considering what was going on,” he continued. “At that time, I wasn’t thinking clearly.” Earlier this month, Kenosha County district attorney Michael Graveley said that he would not file charges against Officer Rusten Sheskey, who shot Blake seven times, given that the officer was acting in self-defense against an armed assailant.
Blake’s admission contradicts past statements from his family and attorneys, who denied that he had a knife in his possession when police shot him on August 23, in an incident that stemmed from a 911 call made by the mother of Blake’s children, who told police that Blake was trying to drive away in her rental car with two of his sons.
“My son didn’t have a weapon,” Blake’s father told the Chicago Sun-Times for an August 25 story. Patrick Salvi Jr., an attorney for the Blake family, told CNN on August 26 that Blake did not have a knife in the car. “Witnesses confirm that he was not in possession of a knife and didn’t threaten officers in any way,” Blake’s attorney, Ben Crump, said in a statement released on August 27.
At the time, Blake had a warrant out for his arrest on charges of trespassing, disorderly conduct, and third-degree sexual assault, which the operator relayed to the responding officers. With the outstanding felony charges, police were required by law to take Blake into custody.
In the interview with GMA, Blake also claimed that “I hadn’t done anything so I didn’t feel like they were there for me,” though investigators later found that Blake had looked up his own warrant on a police website and had sent a text mentioning the warrant prior to the arrest. ABC made no mention of either fact in the interview.
The shooting went viral on social media after being recorded on video, showing officers screaming at Blake to “drop the knife.” In the subsequent days — which included deadly violence, rioting, and looting — the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation revealed that Blake admitted to having “a knife in his possession.” But much of the mainstream press ran with the initial claim that he was “unarmed.”
“Wisconsin’s governor on Monday called in the National Guard to help quell unrest after police shot an unarmed Black man in the latest incident this summer to stir cries of injustice and divide a nation over the urgency of bringing fundamental change to law enforcement,” read the lede of five-person Washington Post byline on August 24. Earlier this month, the Post drew pushback after it maintained the “unarmed” description of Blake in reporting the decision by authorities to not pursue police charges. Though the paper did correct the narrative, one story published January 5 still refers to Blake as “unarmed.” The Post did not return a request for comment on the discrepancy.
In the days after the shooting, CNN ran multiple articles describing Blake as “unarmed” which have yet to be corrected. “Video shows police shoot unarmed Black man” is a current link to an August 24 segment hosted by CNN anchor Jake Tapper.
An August 28 USA Today “fact check” titled “Jacob Blake did not ‘brandish’ knife, get gun before Kenosha police shooting” argued that “Blake was not ‘brandishing’ anything in the video taken by bystanders,” even as it noted that the clip “shows something in Blake’s hand, but the resolution is low, so it could be a knife.”
But rather than issue a correction or a retraction on January 5, PolitiFact merely updated the post with an editor’s note stating that prosecutors had revealed “Blake was armed with a ‘razor blade-type knife’ when he was shot by police.”
The explanation? “That does not affect the rating for this item because ratings are based on what is known at the time.” In other words, it used to be true.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Who gives a crap? Every redneck i know carries a knife but they don't get shot seven times when they're pulled over. Why is this "Breaking News" worthy of an entire segment on Tucker Carlson? Because it plays to their racist base and their obsession with putting down black people

I agree Ajax. Paying for 10,000 troops + all that fence, plus for the arrest and prosecution of all your f-tarded fellow conspiracy mongers who raided the capital the other day is a huge waste of money that shouldn't have had to happen. It should be you and subs, and every right-winger who claimed the election was stolen who pays for it.Ajax wrote:What a colossal waste of taxpayer dollars

Yeah, I mean saying a man was unarmed when he was in fact armed by his own admission is nothing worthy of mention. All it did was incite a riot with property destruction and several fatalities. But I suppose if you agree with the underlying cause the truth is irrelevant and violence, burning, and rioting are good things.Icarus wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 5:28 amWho gives a crap? Re: No charge s in the Jacob Blake shooting
There was no weapon visible on the man during the initial recording and the man recording said he saw no weapon either. The fact that he had a knife in his pocket is irrelevant to the fact that he didn't have it in his hand and he was gunned down while bent over into his car with his back to the officer. These cops never would have done this if he were white. You and your like minded morons in Right Wing media are just trying to focus on an irrelevant point that changes nothing just so you can deceptively claim the media intentionally LIED bout him being armed. The lot of you are disgusting. Once it was known he was armed the media narrative changed but it was irrelevant. Blake was not threatening the cops in any way and he shouldn't have been gunned down. But to people like you, its just one less nigger around.ajax18 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 3:07 pmYeah, I mean saying a man was unarmed when he was in fact armed by his own admission is nothing worthy of mention. I'm not trying to pick a fight here Icarus. While I don't agree with Ajax doing his end-zone chicken dance, I don't agree with you either. I don't seem to have the 'civil rights protector' gene that you do. My default mode seems to usually trend toward trusting that the authorities know what they're doing. So, unless you have some inside information that the system was rigged in this case, I think it might be a good idea to just trust that guys that do have all the facts, got it right ... this time in particular. Lest we give the goons the idea that the authorities are only to be trusted when we say.Icarus wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 3:45 pmThere was no weapon visible on the man during the initial recording and the man recording said he saw no weapon either.
