In fact, I would be willing to bet that the FP or SCMC was in some way involved with FAIR's severing its relationship with the old MB. Of course, DCP, juliann, "Scottie Dog" Gordon, and all the rest of the crew will never, ever admit to it, but I would not be surprised if the Powers that Be in SLC are going to start applying pressure throughout cyberspace.

Maybe I'm being conspiratorial, but I noticed that the MoreGood foundation started accessing my blog, and shortly thereafter, I began getting hits from the Church Office Building. Seems far too convenient to have been coincidental, but you never know. I have no idea how actively people in the COB monitor the net, but I suspect that at least some goes on. That is the SCMC's purpose, after all, to gather information about what people are saying about the church. I'd be surprised if they hadn't expanded into the Internet.

How do you know they've accessed your blog? (I know nothing about tracking that sort of thing, so please enlighten me.) And hits from the COB? How do you know it's them? And why would they monitor your blog?

It's quite simple. There's a free tool called sitemeter, and it gives you amazingly detailed information about your readers: their IP address, provider name (or business name), where they were before they accessed your site, what they looked at while on your site and for how long, and where they went when they left. It tells you their operating system, monitor settings, as well. The church's stuff always comes up in all caps, as THE CHURCH OF Jesus Christ OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS. My friend at the church explained how you could tell who at the church (IT or professional) it was by the browser they used.

Why would they monitor my blog? I have no idea. Yes, I talked about the church fairly regularly, but that wasn't the whole of the blog by any means.

Is this not censorship in the truest form....Blogs when they were started many years ago were meant to be free speech in it truest form...and market place of ideas....let the people hear the ideas and then let them decide.....When censorship happens which is what ending blogs is by choice or force.....it effects us all..if someone has that kind of power to have their cencorship reach so far and then they have too much power and the next thing they censor will be our presonal freedoms...and that is what scares me the most,,,because our presonal freedoms are be whittled away at everyday.
When I wake up I will be hungry....but this feels so good right now aaahhhhhh........

How would they know how to find your blog? Would they monitor you because you used to be an employee and they wonder if you were writing about secrets you learned while employed there? Were they afraid you'd say something damaging?

SR

Glad you could explain the truthto Harmony.....How easy it is to track what happens on the good ole Internet...

People do not realize that cyberspace is not just empty space.....of course the CHURCH is as tech savy as anyone...
Probably more....People that they can't touch are the ones they are afraid on the most...like me

They could excommunicate me and I would just laugh in thier faces and not show up...So I am just a nobody to them
When I wake up I will be hungry....but this feels so good right now aaahhhhhh........
