Missionary Targets

Post by _harmony »

Ajax made an interesting comment on another thread, a comment I think bears investigating. He said Gypsies in Europe are not allowed to be baptised without First Presidency permission.

So... my questions:

1. We know that Blacks were once a pariah population, and missionaries were specifically instructed to not actively seek them out. Are there other groups that are missionaries are told to avoid?

2. Which other groups are not allowed to be baptised without FP permission first?

3. What is it about these groups that puts them beyond the pale?

4. Is this a general policy or is this a local thing?

5. Is it social pressure from the surrounding population that puts Gypsies beyond the pale, or is there a doctrinal reason?

Muslims. Nobody else. There is no policy against Gypsies. Maybe local leaders don't like them.

FP approval was never required for any group and not is today.

Way back when the Holocaust was happening...Hilter Hated gypsy's and gay people, hence the triangles they have at the holocaut museum besides just the yellow ones for Jewish people....

Deaf or handicapped people never even made it to the concentration camps, they were killed before the others, They never even got a chance to get on the trains and go to the concentration camps to be gassed by Hilter....
There are no triangles for handicapped people...which breaks my heart because I have a deaf son and would love to honor him by wearing a "Triangle"
I do wear a "black" triangle for the Gypsy in me...and I wear a "pink" triangle to honor my gay son.

To be baptized by the Mormons I can understand why Jewish people are so offended

They are in fact doing exactly what Hitler did only they are still alive...at least their descendents are. to be killed again by
Hitler/Mormons

That is why I would prefer to be a gay gypsy because the Mormons would not baptize me after I am dead, because there would have been no record of my exsistence on this earth...
When I wake up I will be hungry....but this feels so good right now aaahhhhhh........

Nobody was off-limits in Argentina, but if we ever brought people to church from a slum (villa miseria) they were usually made to feel so unwelcome that they never returned.
