I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say. . . Are you saying that the anti-masturbation 'law' is good, even though it came from faulty data? If it's a bad Moral, how can it be a good law? Could you elaborate a bit on this?

Regarding masturbation, rather than asking for help from the bishop for it, why didn't you just do it by yourself?

Morality is a tool to gain false power in order to control the ignorant.

In essence, your an uncle tom to the Mormon oligarchy in this situation Gaz.

ajax18 wrote:I've often wondered why they're so against masturbation. My first thought was that if a man masturbates, than he's not as starved for sex. Hence he's not as willing to put up with the amount of problems necessary to have a relationship with a woman. Yet when most women have chosen to put off marriage, it really doesn't matter what the man does, does it? You're just suffering, for no apparent reason.

Is that what they're thinking? Why would they be wrong?

The whole masturbation thing comes down to the manufacture of guilt. If someone feels tehy are not meeting the space gods expectations they are more likely to compensate by submitting to tax farming (tithing), volunteering for missions, etc.

I watched the movie Beerfest last night and near the end of the movie Willie Nelson tells this joke:
A father tells his son that if he doesn't stop masturbating, he'll go blind. The son replies, "Hey dad, I'm over here".

My most embarrassing masturbation moment...

...okay...not "mine" but...

I was home teaching a guy in the BOQ in Fort Rucker, AL and I asked him "So. How is everything going?" and he responded, "Fine...well...except for this terrible masturbation problem I have. Can you help me with it?"

I COMPLETELY got the wrong message (little pervert that I was) and sat there open mouthed and nonplussed.

He saw my astonishment and realized what I was thinking and said quickly, "No! I mean...how can I stop doing it!"

We both laughed. I sure didn't know what to tell him.

What I think is funny is that these same Church leaders seem to be completely oblivious that women masterbate, too.

I still think it's part of the baby machine push. Most people would say that getting married to have sex is the wrong reason and will lead to unhappiness. I agree that it leads to unhappiness, yet I tend to think that without the sex part of the equation, most marriages just wouldn't happen. Is that a good thing, no marriage over a bad marriage. Perhaps. It's hard to say. But I know what the leaders of the church and other religions have always wanted, more babies and a better home to raise them in.

I completely agree with you, ajax. If the only release from sexual tension you are allowed to have is sex within marriage without the use of contraceptives, guess what's going to happen? ;)
