Now James, lets be honest here. We both know why critics get banned from MAD

Yes, because Juliann can dish it out but she can't take it and she doesn't like to be proven a liar and a foolish one at that.

and it certainly has nothing to do with their 'arguments'. It has more to do with their style of posting. Just take a look at our not so famous Uncle Dale. He is very much tolerated at MAD and he is a geniune critic. But he posts in a non-offensive way. And this is the key.

Ah, so are you saying style is more important than substance on MAD? I'm glad we've finally established that.

Also, lets now be totally honest, James. The critic arguments have more or less been refuted over there or at least, the LDS and the apologists have given credible replies.

Balderdash. No one has yet to even take on The Dude's arugments about genetics. Tarski regularly mops the floor with whoever is foolish enough to try (Pahoran and Charity the last time). The more the apologists argue, the more foolish their arguments look.

Hence, the critic retreats to this board to get some extra first aid from other critics. And that makes sense. We all need some bandaging every now and then. :=)

There are more than critics here, Why Me. There are several active TR holding members here; they sit on both sides of the aisle.

But those who have been banned were mainly bomb throwers and personal character asssasins. Why heck, you are still over there aren't you? And we like ya.

Not even close. You need to document your statement, and since it's personal, start with Dill Pickles. The Pickle only problem was she jumped the Q, and the only reason she was Q'd in the first place was because Juliann figured out who she was. At no time was the Pickle ever admonished for throwing bombs or making personal attacks. Your theory doesn't hold water.

I often wondered what happened to dill pickles and the posts from the pickle jar. To my knowledge, many of the banned people over stepped the bounds of the board rules, by usually with a snide remark or flame throwing. We do have critics over there who are well behaved and respectful. And this is the key to MAD survival. And it does make for a great board. Personal attacks can not be tolerated or disrepectful behavior also.

At one point, it was getting to be too much for many posters, especially for the LDS posters. The board is mainly for LDS posters. Now we have great discussions with a fair share of critics and believers discussing matters in a deliberative manner.

But as I said at MAD, this celestial board seems like a nice place to be. I am impressed so far.

With all due respect, Why Me, in my experience as both a poster and moderator on FAIR, I noticed a stronger amount of personal attacks coming from the LDS posters than the critics.

Of course, what do I know? According to Juliann(one of the worst offenders, in my opinion, by the way), I'm just a "traitor Mod". ;)

FYI, the Pickle is alive and well on MDB. She is a temple recommend carrying active LDS member, just as she was on FAIR. The only rule she ever broke on FAIR was to jump the Q and put on her Pickle suit. As maklelan pointed out, the Pickle broke a rule, so the mods were justified in banning the Pickle for life. Amazing how all those substantial, nonconfrontational, well-behaved respectful posts were for naught, because the Pickle changed clothes and broke a rule. Which tells me that they are more interested in their rules than they are in substantial posts or well behaved respectful posters... kinda a Pharisee type of rules bunch.

I'm glad you enjoy the Celestial board. We try to keep it swept up and smelling nice.

Just last week I was thinking about the pickle. But I had this feeling that she was a man. Sorry to hear about the pickle being banned. I kind of liked the pickle. Lets see how it goes for me here. I am not that successful on boards for mainly exmormons. I tend to pick out a piece of their post and comment on that one small piece and not the main idea at times.

But I have this idea, that if one is too general in the post and even if this generalization was not the main idea, it needs to be picked out and commented on. But exmormons tend to not like it and accuse me from straying from the topic. I am sure that it will happen here too. But lets hope for the best!

I was known was one of the best Bible debaters on my mission. I loved to defend the church and put some pastors in their place. I went to Brazil on my mission and was never really seriously challenged on my mission. Since the Bible is FUBAR, anyone can defend anything. I never heard of problems with the Book of Abraham, Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith's polygamy, or false doctrines/prophecies taught by the early presidents of the church. I also didn't know that the "church" was a multinational megacorporation.

So now, I'm almost officially an exmormon. I sent in my letter, but it isn't official yet.

Thanks for the welcome. Last night I had a nightmare and Dr. Shades and Mr. Scratch had a role in my nightmare. Should I be having nightmares of these guys? They seem to be decent guys, but....are they?

Shades and Scratch...are you decent guys? I don't want anymore nightmares. ;=)
